Job Description:

Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs 

This position provides support and assistance to the Arts & Sciences Division, including the Division Associate Vice President (AVP), faculty, students, and public to enhance the mission of CVCC. Responsibilities include general support of the programs and work of the Division AVP and faculty. Specific duties entail coordinating with the AVP and faculty to facilitate early college enrollment and support, completing travel requests, scheduling classes, scheduling meetings, answering phones, reserving rooms, completing purchase requests, assisting with the on- boarding of new faculty, maintaining necessary polices, files, and forms, and providing professional and welcoming customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a high-school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to manage office activities and administrative work with excellent customer service skills. Ability to plan and organize multiple projects; work independently with minimal supervision under pressure; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; manage a budget with basic knowledge of accounting and purchasing principles; follow college policies and maintain confidentiality. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse population; working knowledge of current office practices and Microsoft Office Suite and other pertinent software packages; basic knowledge of student information systems; strong organizational and analytical skills; and superb attention to detail.
