Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations, the Assistant Directors will serve as integral members of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Advancement Team and:
• Execute unique engagement activities for CALS alumni and Virginia Cooperative Extension constituents, working in coordination with the marketing and communications team for promotion.
• Collaborate with members of the central advancement team to promote existing programs and enhance the engagement experiences with content from CALS.
• Execute local, regional, and virtual programs to engage alumni and constituents and cultivate relationships to discover new and steward current donors.
• Assist with creating and disseminating alumni and constituent engagement communications, such as event invitations, newsletters, and other business correspondence.
• Contribute to uplifting strategic university and college priorities toward securing resources that support and enhance academic and Virginia Cooperative Extension programs.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in digital media, communications or business information technology or related field or a bachelor's degree in one of the previously listed disciplines and significant professional experience.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with focus on details and timeline.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to listen and interact with a wide range of individuals and organizations.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel, as needed and requested.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with event planning, project management, and/or educational programming.
• Knowledge of donor stewardship practices.
• Knowledge of youth development programs, such as 4-H and FFA.
• Experience with software such as Adobe Creative Suite and website content management systems.
• Experience with customer relations management systems, especially Blackbaud.

Salary Information

$50,000 - $57,000; commensurate with experience.
