Virginia Tech is seeking two Associate Application Analyst to join our Enterprise Systems team supporting either Human Resources Applications or Finance Applications. These teams support, develop, and integrate application software systems and enterprise data that power critical university administrative operations. With a strong focus on technology, efficiency, collaboration, and innovation, our teams deliver solutions that support Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and the employees who rely on these services every day.
As an Associate Application Analyst, you will:

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of education, training, and progressive experience that equates to a Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to analyze business processes
• Foundational understanding of human resources, payroll, finance, or other administrative business processes, or a demonstrated ability to learn new functional areas quickly.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic knowledge of SQL
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience developing scripts, code, or reports using languages such as Java, Groovy, Python, .NET, PL/SQL, SAS, or SQR
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to ERP, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, or other enterprise administrative systems.
• Exposure to higher education administrative practices, applications, and integrations.
• Exposure to APIs, integrations, or low-code/no-code platforms such as Boomi
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and integration practices
• Exposure to web application frameworks such as Angular or React
