Job Description:
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.

Central Virginia Community College is seeking qualified applicants for the Associate Vice President of Arts & Sciences academic division. This is a twelve-month administrative faculty rank position reporting to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. Rank and salary are dependent upon the experience and education of the successful candidate.
Responsibilities include providing leadership, ongoing administrative supervision, management and evaluation of all faculty and staff within the division; implementing strategies that support students in achieving their academic and career goals; Maintaining, evaluating, improving, and marketing already existing programs, and actively creating new programs to meet the community's educational and training needs; Developing and promoting collaborative partnerships with other divisions, programs, and departments across the campus and throughout the community.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree and leadership experience. Evidence of creating successful educational and/or training programs/partnerships to meet business, industry, high school (dual enrollment), four-year educational institutions and community needs. Evidence of providing leadership in developing and implementing strategies to support educational programs and student success.
Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral degree.
Demonstrated effectiveness in:
· Managing departmental budgets, resources, and personnel, including faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation
· Identifying, creating, promoting, delivering, and evaluating new programs
· Promoting, managing, assessing, and improving current courses and programs
· Cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with businesses, industry, high schools, four-year educational institutions, and community-based organizations
· Efficiently developing and managing the student-focused course schedule in collaboration with faculty and administration
· Promoting a positive, collaborative work environment that fosters academic excellence and student success.
