Job Duties

Western State Hospital is seeking a part time Barber/Beautician to provide barber/beautician services to the patients at Western State Hospital (WSH). This position will utilize safe/infection free haircutting techniques and basic chemical services as approved by facility; schedule appointments avoiding conflict with patient treatment programs; conduct a Minimum of 21 hours per week of scheduled Barber and Beauty services; and ensure the services scheduled and implemented are within at least 95% compliance.

The Barber/Beautician will also assure that work environment is safe and infection free; order replacement equipment/supplies as needed; sanitize tools after use; maintain an orderly and hazard-free work area; submit accurate records of services provided on a monthly basis; and conduct 10 random patient satisfaction surveys.

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensed as Cosmetologist in the State of Virginia

- College courses in recreation, occupational therapy, psychology or related fields
- Bilingual
- Veteran or veteran spouse
