Position Title: Ceramics Studio Manager

Department: Humanities, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences

Employment type: part time, 8 hours per week, no benefits available

Position Purpose:
PVCC art department seeks a part-time Studio Manager to oversee the general operations of our vibrant ceramics studio. This is not a teaching position, although there is ample contact with students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Supervision of equipment, chemicals and kiln firings
· Keeping the studio orderly and clean
· Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies
· Adhering to PVCC policies
· Liaising between adjunct faculty, lab monitors, and the department chair




Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience making ceramic art
  • Experience loading and firing kilns
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well with faculty, staff and students


Additional Considerations:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of studio practices, electric and gas kilns
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Extensive customer service experience and skills
