JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the position is to ensure smooth operation of the day-to-day activities of the Office of the Executive Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include efficient management of the administrative functions within the office; and professional, efficient, organized administrative management support to the Agency Director and Executive Management Team members. This position will also be responsible for assisting, coordinating and processing/fulfilling requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated working knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia government and applicable state and federal laws
• Knowledge of legislative government; federal government; agency organization and operations; agency programs, policies and procedures; and procurement laws and regulations
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication; grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Demonstrated records/retention management, research and administrative skills, particularly in accordance with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
• Demonstrated office equipment skills used to support senior-level management in a confidential/sensitive environment
• Effective problem resolution of a potentially sensitive or high exposure nature with discretion and professionalism
• Advanced computer skills, including internet search skills
• Education or coursework in Business Support and Administrative Services
• Experience in an administrative support role in state government environment desired
