Accurate coding is essential to quality patient care, provider success, and the financial integrity of a leading academic health system. As a Coding Quality Specialist 2 supporting OB/GYN services, you will play a key role in ensuring clinical documentation and coding accuracy while helping providers navigate increasingly complex regulatory and reimbursement requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical coder who enjoys combining technical expertise , analytical thinking, and collaboration with providers. In this remote position , you will contribute to the success of women's health services while working within a nationally recognized healthcare organization committed to innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.

The Role

As a Coding Quality Specialist 2, you will leverage your expertise in professional fee coding, documentation review, and coding compliance to support OB/GYN providers and ensure coding accuracy across a variety of clinical services. Your work will directly influence documentation quality, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory compliance.

In an average day, you may:

  • Review and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for provider services, procedures, and diagnostic testing.


  • Analyze clinical documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.


  • Identify documentation deficiencies and determine when provider clarification or queries are appropriate .


  • Apply coding modifiers, evaluate National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits , and navigate payer-specific billing requirements.


  • Partner with physicians, clinical staff, and revenue cycle teams to support coding education and best practices.


  • Monitor coding quality trends and contribute to process improvement efforts.


  • Utilize electronic health record systems, including Epic preferred, to review encounters and supporting documentation.


  • Maintain a high level of productivity while delivering exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.


This role is ideal for coding professionals with approximately three years of experience who are passionate about quality, compliance, and supporting the delivery of outstanding women's healthcare.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant coding experience required.

Licensure: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The pay range for this role is $23.00 - $35.32 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
