Duties & Responsibilities:
The VCU Transform Living-Learning Program’s mission is to equip students to be leaders and change makers in their community by fostering their integrative learning through classroom instruction, reflection, and real-world application in order to strengthen each student’s leadership development, efficacy, and success. The Coordinator for the VCU Transform Living-Learning Program (LLP) plays a key role in advancing the program’s mission to develop students through integrative and experiential learning. This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of Transform’s programming, student experience, and administrative operations.
The Coordinator is responsible for the administrative oversight of the program, including roster management, completion tracking, and aligning with academic processes. The Coordinator designs and facilitates opportunities that integrate classroom learning with reflection and real-world application, supporting students’ leadership development, sense of efficacy, and overall success. This role also provides direct supervision to student leaders, manages program operations, and leads efforts related to recruitment, engagement, assessment, and cross-campus collaboration.
The position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support program activities and events.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Bachelor’s degree in higher education, leadership, social sciences, or a related field. Experience coordinating student programs, leadership development initiatives, or living-learning communities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience using google tools to track departmental workflow. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Knowledge of student development theory and best practices. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for a diverse student population. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education or a related field. Experience with program assessment and evaluation. Experience teaching or facilitating undergraduate leadership development content. Thrives in a high-autonomy environment, capable of prioritizing a complex workload independently while keeping stakeholders informed. Familiarity with high-impact practices (e.g., service-learning, study abroad, undergraduate research, peer leadership). Prior experience as a peer leader or student leader. Ability to become certified to operate university vehicles.
Salary Range: $48,000
