Job Duties

We are looking for a full-time Custodian to join our JYF Team! This position is responsible for providing essential cleaning related services in support of the Foundation's mission and goals, part of which is to provide the upmost in quality service and experiences for our staff and guests. This position also provides essential cleaning and upkeep support to all areas of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation to include museum gallery spaces, offices and related staff use spaces, restrooms, lobby areas, and outdoor areas.

Some weekend work is required, as well as some occasional evening coverage for special event support.

Minimum Qualifications

-Knowledge of best practices and safety standards in professional cleaning
-Demonstrated ability and experience in working safely with chemicals, equipment, and supplies
related to cleaning.
-Experience operating manual and power cleaning equipment.
-Strong written and oral communication skills, including active listening.
-Ability to lift heavy objects, extensive periods of walking and standing, and general ability to
perform activities related to manual labor.
-Commitment to performing assigned cleaning tasks as required.
-Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Additional Considerations

Prior experience working in a custodial/housekeeping position.
