Job Duties

Job Summary – The Juvenile Court Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all court proceedings and related documents within the juvenile justice system. This position requires exceptional organizational and administrative skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost care. The Juvenile Court Records Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the court system, supporting the overall mission of promoting justice and rehabilitation for youth offenders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities –

Create and maintain a systematic filing system for court documents, including case files, motions, orders, and other relevant records. Accurately enter and update case information in the court's electronic database or case management system. Assist judges, attorneys, and other court personnel in locating and retrieving necessary documents and files. Review submitted documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with court rules and procedures. Prepare and distribute court calendars and docket sheets, ensuring accurate scheduling and record-keeping. Provide general administrative support to the court, such as answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and directing visitors. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict ethical standards when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Most competitive applicants will have considerable court, business, records or office-related experience. Applicants should be highly organized and possess significant knowledge, skills, and abilities in critical thinking, problem solving, performance management, time management, and performance management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required.

Additional Considerations

Civil or Criminal court experience and experience handling money preferred.
