    Diagnostic Perinatal Sonographer (Wage/PRN)

    Responsible for providing patient services using medical ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures.

    • Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures and records anatomical pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
    • Assists the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases.
    • Obtains reviews and integrates pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
    • Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.
    • Records and processes sonographic data.
    • Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings.
    • Performs quality assurance checks on equipment ensuring proper safety standards are met.
    • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
    Position Compensation Range: $32.62 - $52.19 Hourly

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education: Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification with either CCI or ARDMS; Associate’s degree preferred.

    License/Certification: Credentials from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids, and disease.
