The Virginia Lottery is currently seeking a Digital Engagement Specialist to join our Marketing Department.
The Digital Engagement Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the CRM & Loyalty Manager in executing CRM and Loyalty initiatives that support the agency’s customer relationship strategy. Being well-versed in all digital aspects of CRM and Loyalty will ensure that the Lottery’s digital engagement programs run successfully.
Collaborating with other teams in a highly agile environment, this position will ensure that the comprehensive needs of the Lottery are met by leading efforts on managing the promotional calendar, reviewing, testing, tracking the performance of campaigns for optimization, and supporting day-to-day campaign development. Responsibilities include trafficking all required creative assets needed for engagement efforts, ownership of the promotions calendar, proofing all promotional campaigns in the testing environment prior to deployment and coordinating the day-to-day projects of the digital engagement team. This role requires keen attention to detail.
The Digital Engagement Specialist will collaborate across the organization to make certain that all details, documentation, and execution of engagement initiatives are coordinated and communicated throughout the business. This role works closely with internal teams and vendor partners on all digital platforms including the website, mobile app, online games, and future solutions to assist in developing outbound communications, promotional offers, and messaging to maintain positive relationships and retain customers.
Calendar Management duties include: • Lead the day-to-day planning of promotional engagement activities including email, SMS, push notifications, and more. • Own and actively maintain the campaign calendar for all promotional engagement activities. • Ensure that the campaign calendar deadlines are met by tracking the progress of each campaign including creative assets from conception to execution with the relevant stakeholders. • Communicate any updates to the campaign calendar to customer facing teams on a weekly basis and assist in answering player questions on Lottery Rewards and iLottery campaigns. • Act as the primary point of contact for promotional engagement requests from other departments.
Campaign Testing duties include: • Lead quality assurance testing for all promotional engagement activities from technical, configuration, and content perspectives on all platforms. • Ensure that campaigns are prominently and appropriately displayed on all platforms. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that any identified campaign issues are resolved and retested. • Serve as a backup for building and deploying campaigns as needed.
Performance Tracking duties include: • Lead the development, execution, and tracking of A/B and multivariate testing for campaigns. • Monitor performance of promotional engagement activities to provide insights into performance. • Collaborate with stakeholders to assist in the development of strategies to improve and optimize promotional activities.
Campaign Support duties include: • Serve as the primary backup for campaign development and assets as necessary. • Participate as needed to support digital advertising efforts and the affiliate program.
Note - This position requires in-office work three days per week including Tuesday and Wednesday.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college with major studies in Marketing, Communication, Business, or related field. • 3+ years of experience in digital customer engagement strategies and marketing implementation (CRM and email marketing). • Excellent understanding of CRM principles and technical knowledge of CRM and analytical systems supported by Bloomreach and Marigold or comparable platforms. • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while working across departmental functions based on agile team needs. • Exceptional attention to detail; writing, editing and proofreading skills. • Thrive in an agile culture including clearly defined process management, collaboration, alignment with organizational and department vision and strategy, creating remarkable customer experiences, continuous learning and improvement, and a high level of employee engagement. • Terrific writing skills with the ability to craft compelling and engaging copy. • Experience using data to shape strategy, tactics, and decisions. Practical experience in developing and executing digital testing strategies. • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships within the marketing department, throughout the organization, and with vendor partners. • Understanding of consumer and technology trends with a focus on customer engagement. • Experience working in Photoshop. • Design and HTML/CSS experience a plus.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
