Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
We are seeking a Drywall/Plasterer for Capital Construction & Renovations (CC&R) to perform work consisting of installing, finishing, and patching holes in drywall and plaster.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and mix materials according to specifications.
Apply first coat or finish coat of plaster using plastering devices such as trawls. Patch plaster breaks and cracks.
Execute projects based on estimates and materials provided by management.
Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and procedures, such as OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations, National Electrical Code, and The Joint Commission.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Four years of relevant experience.
Required Immunization:
Employees will be considered Tier 1 employees and will be required to comply with the Health System’s immunization policy - OCH-002: Occupational Health Screening and Maintenance.
Compensation:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $22.50 - $25.00 per hour ($48,880 - $52,000 Annually) . External applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits . Employee benefits package highlights include:

For this position, the selected candidate will need to complete the required background checks prior to the start date of the position.
Physical Demands:
Employee will be required to lift various weights, climb ladders and stairs in order to complete jobs. The use of both hands and a repetitive motion will be required while performing duties as a plasterer.
