Job Duties

The Rappahannock Rapidan Health District (RRHD) is one of 35 health districts within the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). We encompass five localities - Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock - and serve over 179,000 people.

We are seeking an Environmental Health Supervisor to lead our onsite and private water programs. The position serves as a supervisor in the environmental health program with formal administrative, programmatic and performance management responsibilities for multiple staff in support of work unit goals and objectives. Certifications of the Environmental Health Specialist Senior are required if performing inspections or evaluations of that level. The Environmental Health Technical Specialist certifications are preferred but required if performing the duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of the technical aspects of the relevant program

Ability to provide effective supervision and leadership

Certifications of the Environmental Health Specialist Senior are required if performing inspections or evaluations of that level

The Environmental Health Technical Specialist certifications are preferred but required if performing the duties
