Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH), operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), is a 123-bed psychiatric facility dedicated exclusively to serving individuals aged 65 and older.

This position provides direct, high-level administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. The Executive Assistant plays an essential role in helping the COO manage day-to-day operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting strategic initiatives, and fostering effective collaboration across departments and with external partners. Key responsibilities include clerical tasks such as calendar management, meeting scheduling and documentation, project support and tracking, and assisting with communication and coordination between the COO’s office and other areas of the hospital. Additionally, the Executive Assistant independently manages logistics related to medical equipment, maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring smooth procurement and delivery. This role demands a highly organized, professional, and proactive individual who can represent the COO’s office with discretion and efficiency.

  • Ability to coordinate logistics and manage vendor relationships: Especially concerning medical equipment and facility services
  • Project coordination skills: Experienced in tracking progress, managing deliverables, and reporting updates
  • Interpersonal skills and professionalism: Maintains discretion, handles sensitive information, and collaborates well with internal departments and external partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service, collaboration, and high-level organizational skills is essential for success in this role
  • Special Assignments--Project coordination skills: Experienced in tracking progress, managing deliverables, and reporting updates

Minimum Qualifications

-Professional experience in healthcare administration or executive-level support required.
-Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and scheduling platforms required.

Additional Considerations

-Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards
-Knowledge of regulatory frameworks
-Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field is appreciated, professional experience in healthcare administration or executive-level support will be strongly prioritized.
