    Job Duties

    The Department of Computer Science at Norfolk State University is seeking applications for a 9-month tenure-track Computer Science position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in August 2025. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties include teaching graduate, and undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; developing curricula; serving on departmental, school, and university committees; performing appropriate scholarly and service activities; obtaining external funding and conducting research in computer science, cybersecurity or artificial intelligence.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in computer science, or a closely related field.
    • Skillset and background to teach a wide range of computer science
      courses.

    • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.
    • Skillset and background to teach a wide range of computer science courses including computer networking, computer programming, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and information technology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
