Are you looking for a challenging, rewarding Business Objects Reports Development opportunity? Virginia State Police is seeking to hire a Business Objects Reports Developer at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield County, Virginia. You will be responsible for influencing long-term business intelligence (BI) strategies, analytics, tools roadmaps, and self-service reporting capabilities using Business Objects and driving the implementation end-to-end. You will create and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, and analytical models critical for tracking and managing the business, including build reports, dashboards, and other data, comprehend the correct data sources for a given analysis, and learn from and share knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow Business Intelligence’s total impact to the organization. You will work on an existing SCRUM team and will participate in all agile events established by the team. You will also join your team in continuous improvement activities like the internal "Good to Great" agile initiative. As a technologist, you will also aid your teammates in resolving technical challenges and help resolve any production issues in a timely manner. •Develops, tests, and implements new Reports in BOBJ Suite/Power BI.
•Maintains existing reports and performs Production support activities.
•Develops, tests, and implements new functionality in other new reporting tools.
•Meets with analysts, domain experts, and users to document requirements and estimate levels of effort.
•Determines feasibility of systems enhancements/automation. Provides technical expertise in the development and implementation of new or changing applications.
•Ensures training, cross training/knowledge transfer occurs for self, team members, across teams and clients.
•Keeps up to date on database warehouse/business intelligence products and technologies.
•Assists and provide direction to co-workers in using new techniques and in solving their more complex technical problems.
•Ensures Agile Principles are followed within the team to help increase speed and quality of delivery and improve alignment across projects.
•Ensures the following Agile Manifesto guidelines for VSP are put into practice.
•Follows Scrum methodology that suits project/team.
•Participates in Agile Ceremonies.
•Works as a team to improve/enhance the seven patterns of Agile.
•Participates in Team building exercises.
•Strives to be self-organizing and Cross Functional.
•Ensures a commitment to achieving the Sprint Goal and delivering a high-quality increment.
•Works independently in JIRA and update status and stories accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

•As an integral member of our delivery team, the Business Intelligence (BI) Report Developer is experienced with
design, development, implementation, and support of Department enterprise Business Intelligence (BI) reports.
•Experience with various BI tools such as SAP BOBJ Enterprise Suite, Tableau, and Power BI.
•Considerable knowledge in Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux operating system.
•Demonstrated ability to define user requirements, design and develop solutions, and prepare documents including Mapping Document and detailed design specifications.
•Experience working with cross-functional teams, gathering and document reporting requirements to meet business needs.
•Ability to successfully interact in a team environment and effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English.
•High school graduate or equivalent.
