Equine Barn Manager

The School of Animal Sciences in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is seeking a dedicated and experienced Equine Barn Manager. This position is responsible for the overall management and operation of our equine facilities, including fiscal management, ensuring the health and well-being of our horses, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This staff position will work proactively and collaboratively with our equine faculty to meet programmatic needs. The equine manager will provide daily oversight of our Equine Volunteer Program, manage morning and afternoon feed shifts, herd health monitoring, record keeping, and attend all veterinary and farrier appointments.

• Associate’s Degree (with equivalent experience of a Bachelor’s degree); or, equivalent years of training and experience.
• Previous experience managing performance horses in an equitation barn environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to professionally address and resolve conflicts.

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or Agribusiness.
• Certification in Equine Management or a related field.
