Job Duties:

The Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) Fiscal Division supports the Agency’s mission by providing quality financial management through Budget, Grants, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Compliance services for DARS and the Disability Service Agencies (DSAs). Fiscal services are delivered while being good stewards of the taxpayer’s dollars entrusted to DARS and the DSAs and in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

We are seeking a Fiscal Technician Senior. The incumbent is responsible for processing accurately and in a timely manner DARS and the DSA’s Accounts Receivables and General Ledger transactions in compliance with DOA’s CAPP manual and agency policies and procedures.

The incumbent will perform fiscal duties that include daily deposit of revenue, creating correcting journal entries, researching general ledger transactions, and performing monthly revenue reconciliations for all the DSAs. In addition, this position will provide support to other Fiscal Units in routine business transactions to ensure continuity of operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience -

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, and techniques of Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, and General Ledger. Working knowledge of basic accounting processes. Experience working with automated accounting systems. Knowledge of extracting data from accounting software applications and of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Skills/Abilities -

Skill in operating personal computers and other automated office equipment. Ability to use automated accounting application and to work well with internal and external customer. Ability to work independently in an accurate and timely manner and to multi-task, prioritize the daily workload and meet deadlines. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Considerations:

Experience with State accounting policies, procedures and regulations and in the State accounting system (Cardinal). Knowledge of the Department of Accounts and CAPP Manual policies and procedures.
