Job Duties

Position directs the operation of a food service program in a large, major correctional complex to ensure delivery of nutritious meals in an efficient, economical, and timely manner and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Responsible for ordering and receiving food items, equipment, and other supplies as needed while maintaining an adequate perpetual and physical inventory management system. Submits an estimated budget proposal to the Director Senior and is responsible for maintaining expenditures with budgetary guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Supervisory experience in institutional food service operations. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and the preparation of nutritious meals. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. Considerable knowledge of food service management and of nutrition planning. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to plan and direct the work of others, to compile budget requests and monitor expenditures, coordinate services with other units; and manage employee relations within assigned unit.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of institution security procedures. Experience working in a supervisory role within military or high volume food service operation.
