Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC), a state-operated residential facility supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Manager II to oversee and coordinate the facility’s food service operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and compliant meals to residents in accordance with USDA guidelines, health department standards, and individual dietary needs.

Job Duties
Oversee daily food service operations, including meal preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Supervise, train, and schedule food service staff; provide feedback and guidance.
Collaborate with dietitians, health professionals, and residential teams to ensure therapeutic diets are followed accurately.
Monitor food inventory, place orders, and ensure cost-effective use of supplies and budget.
Maintain and follow compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and food safety standards and regulations.
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.
Participate in menu planning, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and special dietary needs
Work Schedule:
Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays:
5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
This position is considered essential personnel and requires availability during emergencies or facility needs.
Must be available to work different shifts and overtime as required.
Skills and experience required:

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated background in food service management with supervisory responsibilities.
Experience in food preparation, sanitation, inventory management, and safety practices.
Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Proficiency in written and oral communication.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Valid ServSafe Food Manager Certification and Food Allergens certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Valid active driver’s license.
Bonus points if you have:
Experience in a healthcare or residential facility setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and modified food textures.
Experience using NetMenu/ CBORD or other food service software systems.
Familiarity with USDA, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), CMS ICF/IDD and SNF regulations, and Virginia Department of Health food safety and commercial food service establishment guidelines.
Experience using the Commonwealth of Virginia eVA procurement system.
