About the Agency:
The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth.

About the Job:
This position will provide supervision to Food Service Workers for the preparation and serving of food to residents. Additionally, they will assist in the implementation and supervision of the Resident Apprentice Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of large-volume food preparation and serving. Knowledge of nutritional standards and sanitary regulations. Demonstrated ability to develop budget information and operating procedures. Ability to train and supervise staff and other persons involved in food service activities. Ability to successfully complete a ServSafe Certification within two years of their hired date.

Additional Considerations

Dietary or Nutritional Training. Experience in large-volume food preparation and serving in an institutional setting.
