This position serves as a General Services Technician at VDH. Responsibilities include managing surplus inventory, optimizing office spaces, handling mail and distribution services, and providing assistance with vehicle management. This role requires exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. You may provide guidance to staff in other offices or districts as an information resource for these same functions.
You will also provide primary backup for the Fleet Administrator for the Concierge Elite Fleet program and other General Services operations such as processing building access, parking assignments and receptionist desk operations in OPGS.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience with inventory management and warehouse/storage operations • Experience working independently • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet due dates • Experience with hand tools to make minor repairs • Ability to move office furniture and equipment while following design requirements • Ability to distribute mail • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to work well with others and to provide excellent customer service • Basic computer skills • Ability to lift 70 pounds alone • Valid State Driver's License to operate a vehicle while conducting business for the agency
