Job Duties
The Virginia State Bar (VSB), an agency of the Supreme Court of Virginia, has an on site entry level Information Technology (IT) position available. As the primary contact for end user support and technical assistance, you will troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of tier 1 hardware and software issues, escalate complex problems as needed, provision and deploy IT resources, assist with identity and device management tasks in Microsoft Entra ID, decommission and prepare equipment for surplus, and maintain inventory of end user IT resources and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications:
• a basic understanding of laptop and desktop hardware (memory, storage, peripherals, and components)
• experience supporting Windows 11 operating system environments
• familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and basic IT fundamentals such as networking concepts
• strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• ability to work collaboratively and follow directions
• ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• successful completion of a criminal background check
Preferred qualifications:
• prior experience in a helpdesk or similar customer service role
• familiarity with Microsoft admin functionality including, but not limited to, Azure, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Exchange concepts
• interest in developing skills in programming or scripting
