The Mathematical Sciences Department offers undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. programs in pure, applied, and computational mathematics. Research across a variety of disciplines is strengthened through collaboration with local government/industry partners and nearby universities. About the Position:
The position's teaching requirements follows the workload policy which is four (4) undergraduate courses (lower and upper level) such as Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations) each semester and provides some service duties associated with the department’s undergraduate degree.
This is a state-funded, full-time (9-month) instructional (non-tenure-track) faculty position with the option of additional summer teaching opportunities. The position is renewable contingent upon satisfactory performance. The position's rank is determined at the time of hire - open rank.

The Mason Experimental Geometry Lab (MEGL) Outreach Director will receive a reduction of two courses per semester and leads the outreach branch of the Mason Experimental Geometry Lab (https://megl.science.gmu.edu/). They engage the community through small-group activities at nearby K-12 schools and community centers, reaching approximately 1,000 students through 30 events each semester with the help of an outreach team consisting of 1-2 graduate students and 2-4 undergraduate students. The Outreach Director oversees and trains staff, schedules activities, and leads in-person activities. This additional assignment is considered to be an “at-will” position.
