Job Description

The Buczynski Lab, in the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience, is seeking a Lab Technician to join our addiction research team. We utilize in vivo microdialysis as a method for discovering novel neurochemical changes that drive neurological and behavioral dysfunctions.
The responsibilities will include participating in our research in neurochemical signaling, data collection, contributing to publications from studies.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related field.
Experience with in vivo microdialysis and behavioral pharmacology
Specific techniques include: stereotaxic surgery and probe implantation, in vivo microdialysis in freely moving animals, rodent self-administration, behavioral paradigms (open field and elevated plus-maze).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with techniques for evaluating dopamine signaling will be especially useful
Experience with mass spectrometry.
