    Job Description:
    To effectively support the teaching/research/field laboratories by (a) maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies, chemicals, and equipment; (b) maintaining and monitoring laboratory and storage spaces for safety, efficient function, and optimal use; (c) effectively supplying teaching and research laboratories with requested materials; (d) supervising work-study/volunteer students and assisting graduate instructors with biology laboratory sections; and (e) monitoring management of departmental resources as required by departmental budgetary processes. These services are provided within the Department of Biological Sciences, to other departments within the University setting and to external institutions.
    Minimum Qualifications:

    Demonstrated knowledge of general laboratory procedures and equipment and analytical techniques in Biology, Chemistry, or related sciences. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures in a laboratory or field study setting. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to maintain laboratory safety standards. Demonstrated ability to use windows based word processing, databases, spreadsheets & other software applications to create reports, manipulate data, etc. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and customers through courteous and professional interactions. Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workloads. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others.
