Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications:The position manages all user services in the Learning Commons at Perry Library, including help desk, equipment loan program, and workshops/events hosted in the Learning Commons, to ensure that all services function efficiently and effectively. Provides high quality customer service at the help desk and assists users with research, circulation, library, student support services and technical questions. Trains, supervises, and evaluates classified and hourly staff that support the activities listed above.
Considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques
Considerable problem solving and critical thinking skills
Considerable interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
Considerable time management and organizational skills to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines;
Considerable ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making within general guidelines;
Considerable ability to supervise, train and evaluate a diverse library staff and student assistants;
Considerable ability to follow and interpret policies and procedures in performing detailed work;
Considerable ability to work well in a diverse team environment, as well as independently;
Considerable experience working in a library
