Job Description:
The Department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering (EMSE) at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a Lecturer that will contribute to the growth and development of current graduate programs beginning July 25, 2025. This is a 10-month annual appointment with opportunities for summer teaching.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Participation in planning and developing new graduate-level courses.
  • Teaching new graduate-level courses.
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to programmatic needs and outcomes.
  • Help coordinate some of the department's degree programming and curriculum development.
  • Mentoring or advising master's and doctoral students.

Faculty in the EMSE department collaborate in interdisciplinary groups and with individuals in industry and government to develop programs. EMSE faculty members are required to be active, collegial, and strong contributors to the EMSE department’s mission and committed to student success, including demonstrating an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Course development and delivery experience in online settings
  • A teaching portfolio that maps with the department areas of need listed in the requirements section, with evidence of teaching success.
  • Publications in journal(s) and conference proceeding(s) in areas of relevance to the department.
  • Familiarity and capability to teach in online settings both synchronously and asynchronously.
  • A commitment to service, and contributions to relevant academic and professional groups.
  • Instructional design expertise
