Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for an LPN Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am shifts and every other weekend. The LPN is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents.

Job Duties

  • Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
  • Consult with physicians; receives, records and implements orders and schedules appointments.
  • Document residents’ health changes via acute care nurse’s notes and shift change nursing reports.
  • Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepares all required reports and documentation.
  • Conduct daily rounds; observing and evaluating the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care; Consulting with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Virginia.

Additional Considerations

  •  Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting
  •  Supervision experience
