Job Duties

*Currently offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus to those new to state service*.

Provides quality nursing care to psychiatric and gero-psychiatric patients based on standards of nursing practice and care within scope of licensure. To perform selected skilled patient centered nursing care to individual and groups of patients with complex mental and physical illnesses under the general supervision of a registered nurse. Provides a variety of patient care such as administering medication and treatments, maintaining patient records, promoting health and wellness education, and communicating for continuity of patient care.

Schedule: This position works a set 12-hour shift on a two-week rotating schedule. Employees work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week or vice versa. Available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed or license eligible in Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse; multi-state compact endorsement accepted.

Additional Considerations

• Psychiatry and or geriatric related experience.
• Previous experience in hospital setting.
