        Job Duties

        Virginia Tax is seeking a Management Analyst with strong communication and critical thinking skills to support the agency’s senior executive team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with agency leadership in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and works collaboratively with staff throughout the agency to coordinate reporting and strategic planning activities as well as managing special projects and performing other support functions for the Office of Administration and the Commissioner’s Office.

        The Management Analyst will be responsible for:

        Assisting the Office of Administration in all aspects of daily operations

        Coordinating agency-wide Executive Branch reporting, including the Quarterly Management Report and annual and quarterly Strategic Plan Performance Measures

        Leading and/or supporting offices with activities, programs, and projects associated with the agency’s Strategic Plan and other collaborative projects, such as implementing process improvements or executive mandates.

        Effectively managing all phases of assignments, including issue identification and scope, work planning, quantitative and qualitative analysis, documentation, and reporting.

        Serving as a Solution Administrator within Smartsheet for delivering on Strategic Plan monitoring and other reporting objectives

        Representing the agency at legislative workgroup meetings or other public meetings as needed.

        Providing additional support to the Commissioner’s Office as requested, including recording minutes at bimonthly agency Leadership Team meetings.


        The anticipated hiring range is up to $90,000, commensurate with experience.

        This position is eligible for telework once fully trained. Mondays and Fridays are designated for telework and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in person work days in the Richmond office.

        Minimum Qualifications

        Experience working collaboratively with multiple teams, staff and stakeholders to achieve required outcomes

        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

        Strong organizational skills to include multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks effectively

        Experience effectively managing multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and stakeholders

        Ability to think critically to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate data to recommend the most appropriate solution and solve problems

        Experience collaborating internally and externally with various levels of staff

        Demonstrated ability to research and effectively communicate data findings via written reports and clear presentations to individuals and groups

        Highly proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications

         

        Additional Considerations

        Experience in management analysis, budget analysis, and/or policy development

        Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams

        Experience with local, state or federal government

        Experience with business management principles involving strategic planning

        Advanced knowledge of public administration, public policy, research, analysis, planning, evaluation, and measurement techniques
