Medical Education Program Coordinator and/or Assistant, Department of Pediatrics

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks two candidates to fill our Medical Education Coordinator and/or Assistant positions. The ideal candidate(s) should possess excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The position will receive assignments from supervisors and Program Directors and will involve the following responsibilities:
  • Planning, preparing, and implementing educational activities for small to medium-sized programs.
  • Developing materials, coordinating calendars, and engaging in accounting processes.
  • Interacting with program participants and ensuring compliance with national accredited organizations.
  • Coordinating, facilitating, and managing departmental Grand Rounds and trainee conferences.
  • Assisting with Promotion and Tenure for pediatric faculty in collaboration with the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs.
  • Providing high-level support to the pediatrics trainee programs in accordance with GME, ACGME, and University guidelines.
  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Two years of administrative support experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

This position will remain open until filled. This is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
