The Department of Pathology at the University of Virginia (UVA), Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks applications for an academic Pathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the tenure-eligible clinician-investigator track. The successful candidate will have strong skills in diagnostics, teaching, and research. Approximate effort allocation will be 75% research and 25% clinical duties. Candidates will be expected to have developed a basic and/or translational research program with independent external funding. The applicant will actively participate in multidisciplinary conferences with both clinical and basic research colleagues. The candidate will report to Director of the Division of Experimental Pathology. Candidates must hold M.D., D.O., or M.D. / Ph.D. degrees and have, or be eligible for, a medical license in the State of Virginia.
The position will remain open until filled. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
UVA is located in Charlottesville, Virginia, a college town with far more than just the University’s extensive offerings. The Downtown pedestrian mall is a vibrant place to dine, shop and attend live music or theater events. Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains are in view of downtown and only a 45 minute drive.
