Job Duties
The Program Coordinator is a full-time position within Norfolk State University’s Office of Global Learning and International Programs (NSU Global). The position reports to the Associate Vice Provost of NSU Global.
The NSU Office of Global Learning and International Programs is the institutional unit charged with leading and facilitating NSU’s comprehensive internationalization efforts.
Comprehensive internationalization at NSU is the strategic and integrated approach to all activities that make up Global Learning and International Programs throughout the university. These activities include:
1. Education abroad and faculty/student exchanges
2. International student and scholar services
3. International student recruitment and enrollment
4. International contracting and technical assistance
5. Area, international and/or foreign language studies
6. Internationally oriented faculty and curriculum development
7. International institutional linkages
8. Internationally oriented community and outreach activities
9. International education research
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with a diverse, cross-cultural population
- Ability to interpret and follow University guidelines, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn a variety of computer software programs utilized by the university, including Microsoft Office, Via TRM Global Program Management Software and Kentico Web Management Software.
- Skill in the operation of typical office equipment in a university setting
- Ability to manage assigned administrative workflow for multiple programs and related budgets, including the NSU Campus Internationalization project
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and function in a high volume/high traffic office setting
- Knowledge of the current field of International Education
- Understanding of social media and the ability to support the unit’s communication through multiple social media outlets
Additional Considerations
- Ability to learn Via TRM
- Experience supporting Title III Grants
- Proficiency in English and a second language
