Job Duties

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus or $10,000 Student Loan Repayment for eligible employees

This role will function as a medical health provider to the inmates by performing initial and ongoing medical assessments, prescribing appropriate medication and/or mechanical measures to assist inmates with their medical needs, and assisting with preparation/modification of medical treatment plans.

Note: The hiring range for this position may include consideration of this work unit/location and salary offers may include a stipend directly associated with assignment to this work location.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school, licensed to practice in the State of Virginia as a Nurse Practitioner

Extensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.

Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of practice and interventions appropriate for the assigned population

Ability to function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Additional Considerations

Experience working in a Correctional Environment

Experience treating in a public health care setting.
