    Job Duties

    The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as an Outreach and Communications Coordinator in the Chief of Staff Office.

    Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    The Outreach and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with various projects within the Public Relations & Communications Unit within the Chief of Staff Office. This position requires a professional able to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (advocates, providers, state agencies), develop innovative engagement strategies and content, coordinate and organize relevant resources, and embody the mission and vision of DMAS while promoting the Medicaid Agency’s programs and services to execute high-quality stakeholder engagement with efficiency and professionalism.

    The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and cannot exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

    Experience working with stakeholders or advocacy groups.

    Experience developing working relationships with executive management positions and external organizations.

    Experience with creating engaging material and content.

    Experience developing or implementing strategic outreach plans for an organization.

    Experience with Microsoft Word.

    Knowledge of interpretation and application of federal, state laws/regulations.

    Experience in meeting deadlines.

    Experience with internal/external stakeholders.

    Additional Considerations

    Competitive candidates should meet these additional considerations:

    Knowledge of state government or the health industry.

    Experience substantially increasing stakeholder engagement for an organization.
