Southeastern Virginia Training Center is hiring a part-time, weekend Receptionist to join our Security team at our 24-hour facility. The Receptionist is responsible for answering a multi-line phone system and demonstrating a high level of customer service. This position maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, issuing visitor badges and enforcing access control to the building.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for staff, individuals, and visitors, the Weekend Receptionist plays a key role in facility operations and security. Primary responsibilities include:
Answering and directing calls on a multi-line phone system
Greeting and assisting visitors while answering general inquiries
Monitoring visitor activity and video surveillance systems
Issuing visitor badges and maintaining accurate logbooks
Enforcing building access control procedures
Responding to emergency situations, including contacting police or fire departments as needed
Work Schedule:
Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Occasional holiday coverage required
This position is hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
Skills and experience required:
We’re seeking a professional who can remain calm and composed in emergency situations, with the following qualifications:
Experience with general office procedures and equipment.
Proficiency in MS Office and databases.
Operate two-way radio and general announcing system.
Experience operating a multi-line phone system.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Active, valid driver’s license.
Bonus points if you have:
Background in reception, security, or administrative support in an intermediate care facility.
General knowledge of Security procedures.
Former DCIS licensed private security certificate: armed and unarmed
