Job Duties
The Virginia Beach Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court PC Analyst/Support Technician position (Grade 12) is assigned operational responsibilities under the direction of the Chief Deputy Clerk of Administration and ultimately reports to the Clerk of Court. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support, troubleshooting software and hardware for PCs, video conferencing and telephones, updating and creating forms, managing supplies, and other court support as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Installation, upgrading, troubleshooting and support of PC’s, printers, scanners, and video conferencing equipment.
Train all new users in the proper use of the PC, hardware, and software programs.
Respond timely to user needs regarding hardware and software usage, computer down time, regular maintenance and unanticipated problems. Report and work to resolve issues with City and Supreme Court IT.
Manage inventory for all hardware, software, licenses, repairs, upgrades, forms, and supplies.
Manage forms and supplies inventory including ordering, receiving, storing, and maintaining an accurate inventory list.
Create and update forms for the court ensuring they are user-friendly, pdf-fillable, and ADA compliant.
Update and maintain the court’s local website and social media accounts.
Be the court’s liaison with City and Supreme Court IT staff to obtain connectivity to and from the Supreme Court and City’s networks as well as coordinate any IT projects.
Must be a motivated self-starter who is able to work individually as well as in a team environment.
Manage remote hearing requests.
Provide excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
The most competitive candidates will possess:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in hardware, software, and network troubleshooting and support.
Must be proficient in and be able to train staff to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook.
Must have excellent organizational skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree and/or technical training equivalent
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office and courtroom setting. Duties require frequent standing, bending, bending neck up, down and turning, stooping, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive motion with wrist, hands and fingers, reaching, fingering and grasping. The employee may be required to lift or carry items weighing approximately 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
