Peer Recovery Support Coordinator Position - Outreach

Peer Recovery Support Coordinator, reports to the Assistant Director of Substance Use and Recovery Support and works with this individual and other staff to develop, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of recovery programming and services for a diverse student body of over 28,000. The Peer Recovery Support Coordinator is primarily responsible for developing individually focused peer services, leading outreach efforts on campus including naloxone training, and providing recovery programming. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Peer Recovery Services 35%

• Provide individual peer coaching to students in and seeking recovery

• Lead professional development sessions for fellow peer recovery specialists

• Support individuals participating in recovery housing

Outreach and Advocacy 30%

• Lead health education events, provide lectures, programs, and outreach, including: Online, classroom, large group, etc.

• Lead naloxone training efforts and support campus wide naloxone program

• Organize and facilitate Recovery Ally Program

• Targeted outreach to key stakeholders and underserved populations.

• Mentor and support student groups working on substance related topics

• Coordinate programming and awareness events

• Collaborate and develop strong partnerships with campus and community

partners to ensure access to services for students in recovery

• Participate in professional organizations to advance the work of collegiate

recovery

Recovery Programming 25%

• Work with supervisor to use evidence-informed practices to guide program

development and set strategic priorities for Rams in Recovery.

• Conduct ongoing assessment, planning, and evaluation of programming for

Rams in Recovery.

• Facilitate Recovery Scholars Program sections

• Participates in after-hours and weekend programs as needed.

Administrative Duties 10%

• Work with supervisor to develop and implement strategic plan specific to program area

• Maintain proper training in customer service, crisis intervention, and other

university policies and procedures

• Continue professional growth by reading current research and attending

conferences/trainings

• Participate in Division and University-wide events as needed

• Assist with daily operations of the recovery clubhouse

***This is a 1 year grant funded position with renewal contingent on continued grant funding***
