Pharmacist - Pediatric Operations

This position will support pediatric pharmacy operations for UVA Children's. This pharmacist will be expected to dispense pediatric specific oral doses and the Battle Infusion Pharmacy (sterile compounding). The role will be expected to facilitate and lead projects impacting the pediatric pharmacy satellite including workflow and EMR optimization. This pharmacist will also be given the opportunity to develop pediatric clinical pharmacy skills as the schedule supports. Staffing is dayshift, every 4th weekend and 1 major holiday.

Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the Medical Center.

• Enters physician orders into the appropriate computer system.
• Processes physician’s orders.
• Checks and reviews pharmacy assistant/technician’s preparation of orders.
• Provides drug information to customers inside and outside of the Medical Center.
• Practices pharmacy in accordance with regulations.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
  

Position Compensation Range: $52.46 - $83.94 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree required

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
