General Information:

The Virginia Department of Education Region 5 Training and Technical Assistance Center (T/TAC) is seeking a qualified and experienced administrative Office Specialist. We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is interested in a work environment that affords ongoing learning opportunities, collaboration with colleagues, and an opportunity for professional advancement.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full post award grant lifecycle for multiple IDEA funded awards (e.g., Part B 611 and 619), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university requirements.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track all grant funded activities, deliverables, and milestones across initiatives.
  • Coordinate planning and execution of in person and virtual events, including conferences, regional meetings, webinars, and professional learning sessions.
  • Support development and dissemination of project communications, including announcements, newsletters, and outreach to regional and state stakeholders.
  • Oversee updates to TTAC and project specific websites to ensure accuracy, usability, and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze data related to grant funded activities (e.g., event participation, technical assistance delivery, regional engagement).

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Working knowledge of effective and efficient office management practices and customer service practices
  • Fluency in the Windows computer operating environment and Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently, organize the work of self and others, meet deadlines, and work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Previous administrative experience in an office setting and demonstration of proper office management practices and professionalism

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience with Canva, Trello, and Microsoft Teams
