Job Description
The Program Coordinator for Economic Development supports a broad range of programs, services, and operational functions housed within the HUB at Radford University. This role provides comprehensive coordination and administrative support for Economic Development initiatives including but not limited to - front desk operations, general supervision of student workers, assistance and operation of CoWorks@The HUB, the Talent Connector program, and the Certification Center, and associated outreach and marketing efforts for these programs.
The Program Coordinator utilizes strong project management skills to support the planning, execution, and tracking of Economic Development initiatives and events. This includes coordinating timelines, managing multi-step tasks, supporting communication workflows, and ensuring smooth, on‑schedule delivery of program activities.
The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for CoWorks members, Radford University community, certification exam takers, the public, and partners. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Director of Economic Development & Community Engagement to advance departmental goals and strengthen regional economic and workforce development.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated administrative, program coordination, or project support experience.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, follow‑through, and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, Zoom, and related tools.
• Ability to assist with marketing, social media, and outreach communications.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education, experience, and/or training preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education, experience, and/or training.
• Experience with digital content creation, social media management, or graphic design.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms.
• Experience coordinating events, outreach campaigns, or community engagement efforts.
• Experience supporting student workers or frontline operations.
• Knowledge of professional certifications, workforce development, or higher education settings.
