Job Duties

The VA Department of Motor Vehicles is looking to hire Program Support Technicians for multiple positions with its Customer Records work unit. This position involves providing support with driver and vehicle record requests to customers in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations and procedures in a courteous and friendly manner.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of business English, mathematics.
•Knowledge of office operating practices, office equipment and its uses, standard business forms and filing systems and principles.
•Keyboarding skills and ability to use a personal computer and access automated systems.
•Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work using prescribed procedures including collecting and organizing material by analyzing what is available and deciding what to include, presenting data in prescribed format.
•Interpret and explain guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures to customers.
•Compose correspondence, research, analyze data and reach logical conclusions.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
