Job Duties

Enter data into the Virginia CORIS data base pertinent to prisoner movement and transportation. Assist in the coordination and transportation of inmates in the Virginia Department of Corrections to institutions, community-based programs and local jails. Assist in determining bed space availability for scheduling inmate transfers and ensures priority transfers are made in accordance with established criteria and in a timely fashion.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of the Geographical locations of VADOC Facilities and Local & Regional Jails. Working knowledge of all Department of Corrections functions. Demonstrated skills using MS Office, VACORIS and automated systems. Extensive data entry, typing, working with statistics and office/clerical skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effective oral, written and verbal communication. High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

Classification and/or Institutional Records Experience. VCIN Certified.
