Job Description:The Program Support Technician provides advanced administrative and program support for workforce training initiatives within the Trades and Transportation Construction programs at the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA). This position supports program operations, assists with registration and tuition assistance processes, tracks grants related to workforce training, and serves as a liaison between internal staff, industry partners, and program participants.
The position functions as a subject matter expert on administrative processes related to Trades and Transportation Construction programming and supports the delivery of workforce training aligned with industry standards and credentialing requirements.
Primary Duties
- Provide advanced administrative and program support for Trades and Transportation Construction workforce training programs at Community College Workforce Alliance, including coordination of program logistics, scheduling, and operational processes.
- Support training initiatives associated with industry partners and credentials including National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI), Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), and registered apprenticeship programs.
- Coordinate workforce training registration processes and maintain accurate program data using student registration systems, including support for tuition assistance and grant-funded program participation.
- Serve as a liaison between program staff, instructors, industry partners, and program participants by providing information on program requirements, policies, and training opportunities.
- Maintain program records, track grant and enrollment data, assist with reporting requirements, and provide responsive customer service to students, job seekers, employers, and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Considerable experience of administrative and office support functions.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- Ability to research and resolve issues independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse, multi-generational populations including students, employers, and community partners.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships while working independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to use online systems and databases.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years experience providing administrative or program support in an office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and provide high-quality customer service.

- Post-secondary training or education in office administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with financial or fiscal reporting processes.
- Experience working with computer-based student registration or financial assistance systems.
- Experience supporting workforce training programs, education programs, or industry credentialing initiatives.
