Job Duties

The office of the Deputy Director of Programs, Education and Reentry promotes and maintains a safe, secure, and healing environment for inmates and staff as it provides professional and timely guidance and support to the Operational units through the use of Evidence Based Practices and data driven management for the purpose of creating lasting public safety and recidivism reduction.

Provide project leadership and support for Deputy Director of Programs, Education and
Reentry. Gathers data and conducts system analysis. Clearly reports findings of analysis in a transparent and ethical manner. Develops verbal, written and power point reports. Leads special projects and communicates effectively with individuals and in a group setting; and provides direction and guidance to operations field staff and programs staff in support of agency and division initiatives and operating procedures. Represents the Deputy Director on various teams and committees as needed. Works closely with the Statistical Analysis and Forecast Unit and leadership staff in the Division of Operations. Serves as a contributing member of the Agency Executive Team.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Extensive knowledge and experience with corrections (facilities and community corrections), evidence-based practices related to offender change, and prison and probation cultures. Strong interpersonal, facilitation and experience with collecting data, providing information, leading projects, and facilitating meetings with diverse staff and different perspectives. Considerable experience with evidence-based practices related to offender recidivism, reentry programs, education programs. Experience identifying correctional system needs for improvement, conceptualize projects related to a vision for outcomes, develop workplans to achieve outcomes, and organize and lead staff and processes to complete the project timely. Experience interpreting data reports and related measures for projects. Ability to assess operational systems, collect data and analyze processes throughout the correctional system. Willing to travel to throughout Commonwealth as necessary. Ability to effectively write reports and summarize information succulently but thoroughly for various target audiences. Experience with criminal justice operations (facility and/or community), project management and leadership, interpretation of policy and procedures, legislative processes, systems analysis, effective communication with large and small groups.
