Job Duties

The Direct Service Associate II is directly accountable to the LPN, RN I, RN II, and RN MGR I for the provision of direct care to mentally Ill patients on an assigned unit, in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the Eastern State Hospital Department of Nursing and the Hospital’s mission, goals, and objectives.

This position is assigned to the Night Shift. The work schedule consists of a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts per week, with a requirement to work rotational weekends and holidays, as outlined below:

• Two (2) 8-hour shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Two (2) 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Shift assignments may vary within the night shift based on operational and staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license or must be able to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Additional Considerations

• Experience working directly with individuals with challenging mental health and behavior issues in a public, residential, or psychiatric hospital is preferred.
