Job Duties

$30k Sign-On Bonus, up to $60k Student Loan Repayment, or Relocation Assistance (all with tenure agreements) available for eligible state new hires

This role provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to mentally ill inmates.

In this role one will function as a mental health provider to the inmates by performing initial and ongoing psychiatric assessments; to prescribe appropriate medication and/or mechanical measures to assist inmates to improve behaviors; assist with preparation and modification of treatment plans and recommend and assign to appropriate programs.

This role provides supervision to psychiatric providers at the institution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school and psychiatric residency program
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Virginia; M.D./D.O
  • Possess the skills and knowledge to provide comprehensive psychiatric services

Additional Considerations

  • Board Certification. Forensic or Addiction specialty
